VF-92 REUNION 2009
'After Action Report'
The reunion was a great time, we had twenty plus wives show up. Branson treated us great and could not do enough for us at hotel. We had great food and a hospitality room. I managed to find some San Miguel beer and it went pretty fast. Jim Mann dyed his hair grey so he would look as old as the rest of us.
There were a some new attendees, Jack Mason, Tony Koenen, Harry Baker, Karroll Olson, Dale Williams, Ronnie Miller and many sea stories. We attended a show called the Great hits of the 60’s which was a great show and we surprised the group with a DVD which they played during the show which had pictures of the guys back in Viet Nam. The group attended some other shows also.
We had a little meeting Saturday during the dinner and decided to invite all members of VF 92 who served during the Viet Nam era. 1964-1975. Dennis Jackson will have the DVD from the show up on the web site as soon as he can, the show gave us permission to post it.
Roy Grubb as you probably know by now took some great pictures. There were a lot of sea stories and good times. Mr. Barrett was not sure if the statute of limitations was up on some of them. We hope to get more people to the next reunion. We are looking at San Diego and Dennis Jackson is the point person for location. The Midway is there and has some interesting options. We are looking at 2011 or maybe late 2010. Ron Magstadt had some information on an air show which is conducted at Miramar in Oct. 2010. If anyone has suggestions, options, ideas or such please let us know. If you know the whereabouts of anyone from the squadron please let us know. Also talk to people and let them know we would like to see them there. We will be sending out more information as soon as we know.
Fair winds and calm seas to all. Jeff Grates
